About

On 27 February 2017 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, a few days after my 38th birthday. I've decided to record my journey with all its ups and downs. If you're new, my first post is here. And come along with me as I kick cancer's arse.

UPDATE: on 21 March 2019 I was informed they had found cancer in my fallopian tubes, after a 'preventative' oophorectomy because I found out I carry the BRCA1 gene mutation. Having overcome breast cancer I'm now determined to do the same with ovarian cancer, and once again record my journey here.

UPDATE: On 20 December 2019 I was once again declared 'NED' (No Evidence of Disease) and I am now living as someone who overcame cancer twice. Cancer will always be a part of my life, but I'm making it work for me, rather than define me. My experiences have undoubtedly changed me profoundly, and I will continue to explore that here, albeit more sporadically than when I was going through treatment.
